helps to dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline systems within educational institutions through mentorships with students and community partnerships.
I AM Academy was born in the living room of 2 parents with 5 children. Both had been greatly impacted by youth oriented programs in their formative years and felt God leading them to launch a program that would be preventive, collaborative and impactful for community and schools.
Their primary goal is to help dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline systems within educational institutions that greatly impact black children, especially males, through mentorships with students and community partnerships.
We also provide resources and funding for the organization’s mission, and staff including their annual I AM winter gala fundraiser.
