This privacy notice discloses the privacy practices for marshill.org. This privacy notice applies solely to information collected by this website. It will notify you about the following:
We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to any individual and/or entity for any reason.
We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g. to ship an order.
Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email/mail in the future to provide ministry updates, new products or services information, and/or changes to this privacy policy.
You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. You can do the following at any time by contacting us via the email address or phone number given on our website:
We take reasonable precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information (such as credit card data) via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.
Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure manner. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the Web page.
While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also take reasonable steps to protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific function (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.
In order to register for specific community events, groups, and/or classes, a user must first complete a registration form. During registration, a user is required to provide certain information (such as name, email address, gender and birth date). This information is used to contact you about the products/services on our site in which you have expressed interest.
We request information from you on our order form. To buy from us, you must provide contact information (like name and shipping address) and financial information (like credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill your orders. If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this information to contact you.
We use “cookies” on this site. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor’s hard drive to help us improve your access to our site and identify repeat visitors to our site. The actual cookies contain hashed data, so you don’t have to worry about someone gleaning your username and password by reading the cookie data. A hash is the result of a specific mathematical formula applied to some input data (in this case your user name and password, respectively). It’s quite hard to reverse a hash (bordering on practical infeasibility with today’s computers). This means it is very difficult to take a hash and “unhash” it to find the original input data.
WordPress uses two (2) cookies to bypass the password entry portion of wp-login.php. If WordPress recognizes that you have valid, non-expired cookies, you go directly to the WordPress Administration interface. If you don’t have the cookies, or they are expired, or in some other way invalid (like you edited them manually for some reason), WordPress will require you to log in again, in order to obtain new cookies.
The first two (2) cookies contain information about the cart as a whole and help WooCommerce know when the cart data changes. The final cookie (wp_woocommerce_session_) contains a unique code for each customer so that it knows where to find the cart data in the database for each customer. No personal information is stored within these cookies.
Our organization partners with three (3) affiliates: (1) Affinity Mentoring, (2) 20 Liters, and (3) Grand Rapids HQ. When a user donates to one of these three (3) affiliates through our website, we will share your name, email, address, and contribution amount with the specific affiliate to which the contribution was assigned, and only that affiliate. These parties will use this personally identifiable information for the purpose of communicating with their donors.
This website contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of any other site that collects personally identifiable information.
From time-to-time our ministries will use our site to request information via surveys. Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary and you may choose whether or not to participate and therefore disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and email address), but we will never ask you for financial information through a survey. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving our ministries and/or the use and satisfaction of this site.
Please keep in mind that whenever you provide personal information—for example, via message board or chat—that information can be collected and used by people you don’t know. While Mars Hill Bible Church strives to protect its users’ personal information and privacy, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you disclose online and you do so at your own risk.
By using this site, you signify your agreement to the Mars Hill Bible Church privacy policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our site. Your continued use of the site following the posting of any changes to this policy will mean you accept those changes.
If you believe that we are not abiding by this privacy policy, you should contact us immediately via telephone at 616.249.3337 or info@marshill.org.
