Celebrating Another Kind Of Independence Day

This summer, after many years of functioning as subsidiaries of Mars Hill, we’re proud to announce that 20 Liters and HQ will be moving into their next stage of growth as fully independent organizations!

This calls for a celebration. Join us on Sunday, July 22 to hear more about all the amazing work that HQ has been doing and learn how you can continue supporting their work alongside our community—beginning with donating new socks [of all kinds and adult sizes] and underwear [preferably cotton-based women’s briefs, and men’s boxers or boxer briefs]. Laundry baskets will be available in our Welcome Center on July 22 to collect your donations.

After our 10am Gathering, stay for a special lunch celebration in our West Parking Lot. A number of festive Food Trucks will have delectable dishes to purchase, while kids eat free hot dogs. During this time, you’ll also have the opportunity to engage with the leaders of HQ, learn more about how they are working to provide rest, resources, and readiness to homeless youth in Grand Rapids, and help them start this stage off right by coloring lunch bags and covering the cost of a meal for one of their members.

Then, on Sunday, Aug 19, we’ll do it all again with the chance to learn more about 20 Liters, celebrate their growth, and donate toward their next phase of work.
