It seems that wherever you look in the Bible, people are waiting. For a rescue, a child, a home, a king, a Savior.
And it seems that wherever you look in the Bible, you find a promise—God is going to do what God promised.
Advent is an invitation to wait with the Church of Jesus all around the world. Advent is, in the words of Philip Pfatteicher, a season of waiting together "with sometimes rising impatience, deepening frustration, and frequent disappointment".
And yet we wait, in hope and faith, trusting in the Lord who makes a way out of no way. Come and wait with us, beginning this Sunday.
