Today’s “issues” of injustice aren’t “issues” – they are real people. Join us in considering what opportunities and hurdles there are to loving our neighbors as ourselves, right here in West Michigan.

“Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world’s grief. Do justly, now. Love mercy, now. Walk humbly now. You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it.” -Talmud

Summer Book Club

Summer Reading (or Listening!) + Intentional Living = Summer Book Club

Let’s put those lazy summer reads into some meaningful engagement. Read/listen to the selected book(s) in advance, and then join us to discuss it at one of our Outreach champions around West MI to see their work in action and hear from people in the trenches.

July 23, 7-9pm: Incarceration | Hosted at Next Step of West Michigan

Just Mercy: A Story of Justice + Redemption – Bryan Stevenson [Note: there’s a briefer Young Adult version available as well]

August 22, 7-9pm: Housing + Homelessness | Location/Host TBA

Evicted: Poverty + Profit in the American City – Matthew Desmond
