Throughout the year, our Community Life Team hosts a variety events to help our community learn how to best live into our community and the way of Jesus. Wondering where to begin? Here are a few great places to learn more.

Get Connected Event

Interested in growing personally or relationally, but aren’t sure what opportunity or group facilitator would be a good fit for you? Have questions about one of our ministries? Come talk to staff and volunteer leaders before and after the Gatherings to get info, find help discerning a good fit, and get signed up.

Join us on Sunday, Sept 16 for another great ministry fair.

Mars Hill Connect

If you’re desiring a more personal connection with Mars Hill pastors and elders, wondered about Mars Hill’s vision, approach and theology, or need some direction as to what opportunities may be right for you—this gathering is for you.

Men’s Breakfasts

Led by Lead Pastor, AJ Sherrill and former Elder, Ross Van Klompenberg, our Men’s Breakfasts are a great opportunity to get to know other men in our community, while engaging relevant topics around life and faith.

Formation School Public Lecture Series

Not part of this year’s Formation School? That doesn’t mean you have to miss some of our key lectures and special guests. Check out what’s coming up.

This fall, in addition to our Sunday morning gatherings, we are working to create smaller environments that will help us to enter into deeper intercessory and healing prayer.

Enneagram +
Spiritual Practice

If you are curious about why you are the way you are and how you can best grow within your uniqueness, this workshop is for you.

Learning Labs

Through a series of Learning Labs, or thoughtful sessions on the topics of our day, we’ll engage divisive issues from the standpoint of humility—in an attempt to learn from one another and grow towards unity over discord.

LINES: The Lived Experience of Race

Join us in commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act as we co-host the presentation of Lines: The Lived Experience of Race, a live play that explores the racial history of Grand Rapids, and its impact on our schools, churches, and workplaces–past and present.

Meet Ups

Throughout the year, our Community Life ministry hosts a variety of events for you to gather and connect with others outside of our building. Bring your family and friends, make a few new friends, and let’s enjoy spending time together as a community.

Exploring Leadership

What would it look like for our leaders to begin a rhythm of connecting with and learning from each other? In the spring of each year, our entire pastoral team host an Exploring Leadership event to find out. If you are a current leader at Mars Hill or interested in exploring a leadership role in our community—come—and let’s dream together about how we can lead our community well.
