*Due to Governor Whitmer’s Stay Safe, Stay Home order, our building will be closed through April 13, 2020. We invite you to worship with us Wednesday nights at 8pm and Sunday mornings at 10am at marshill.org/live.

How should we respond?

As a church, let’s use this current pandemic to care for one another. Jesus taught us by example to run towards those who are the most marginalized and sick. Consider things like contacting people you know who live alone or dropping a casserole off on a friend’s porch. It truly takes a village.  In this spirit, here are a few ways we can serve you and you can serve our community.

Do you need help?

We want to help the church be the church. If you have needs, please let us know. Email our Congregational Care Pastor, Brian Catlett or fill out the form below.

GIVE:

You can help support those within our community by giving financially to our White Bucket Project. The White Bucket Project is based on the idea that within our community, one person may have more than enough, while at the same time somebody else has so much need they can’t see their way out. The White Bucket will be used to not only help our Mars Hill community, but also families in need that we are in contact with via our Outreach partners who serve vulnerable people in need.

Click the Give button below, sign in or give anonymously, and select “The White Bucket Project” as your designated fund.

Updates:

March 12, 2020

Friends,

On March 11, Governor Whitmer addressed the state of Michigan and requested that all gatherings of 100 people or more be canceled or postponed. We are a people of faith, and we are also a people of common sense. These are not in opposition.

After discernment, conversation and prayer, we have decided to cancel/postpone all events until further notice. We will only Livestream our Gathering on Sunday, March 15. While our building will be closed, we invite you to worship with us online at marshill.org/live on Sunday morning at 10am. You can also give to the Joy Box online at marshill.org/give.

We will analyze the situation week by week and will communicate updates via our website, email, Facebook, and Instagram. This would be a great time to follow us on social media if you haven’t already done so.

The health and safety of our community, volunteers, and staff has always and will remain a top priority. We believe taking these necessary steps is a way for us to demonstrate compassion to those around us, especially those who have compromised immune systems. It will also help containment of the virus.

We realize this virus is creating anxiety but we remain confident of God’s steadfast presence in our community and all around our world. Let’s pray for those affected by this illness and the caregivers who are working tirelessly to minimize the impact of this virus. Let’s also use this opportunity to demonstrate a spirit of faith and draw confidence that the Kingdom of God will prevail.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” – John 14:27
