House Mentors

You Live With Housemates For A Reason

For some a housemate is someone with whom you simply share bills and a bathroom. For others, the people you are living with are a carefully selected group of people with whom you desire to share life. We believe housemates have a unique opportunity to journey through this important time of life together purposefully and significantly.

You have a community, you don’t need to join another one. And we’re committed to helping you make your housemate experience the best it can be.

What is a “House Mentor”?

A house mentor is a person [or a couple] who has experienced the joys and challenges of living with a group of friends. They are committed to walking along side of you and your housemates to help foster the depth of connection you desire.

House Mentors will help you make commitments to each other that are both realistic and stretching. While the House Mentor will not live with you, they’ll dedicate themselves to you and your housemates by being available for conversations, offering guidance, and facilitating points of connection. Whether you and your housemates decide to share meals together, journey through a Short Circle curriculum or commit to serve together as a group, the House Mentor will help you make commitments to each other and stick to them. You decided what your adventure in community will be and we will help you get there.

What is a “House”?

A “house” is any group of 3 or more people living together in a house or apartment. Not all of the housemates must be attendees of Mars Hill.

If you would like to further explore this opportunity to experience a deeper sense of connection with your housemates, contact us at youngadults@marshill.org to set up a time to meet. We look forward to helping you journey well with your friends.
