Desc: | Attend
the Toronto International Film Festival for a 4-day plunge into the
many stories that fill our lives on Thursday, September 12 through Sunday,
September 15, 2013.
While there we’ll seize the unique opportunity that film festivals
offer to engage not only art, but often the artists as well, creating a
unique shared experience for a group of people. Many people just watch
movies and then move on with life, never processing the experience. By
intentionally engaging in discussions about what we are seeing and
hearing, we can learn and grow in significant ways. The trip will
provide space for getting to know others from our community as we
discuss how the stories the films present interact with our own stories,
the Biblical narrative, and the many other stories playing out in our
culture.
The Digs Canadiana + Clarence Castle Hostels will act as our
base camps for the 4 days in downtown Toronto. Even though we will
attempt to view films together as a group, we want to make sure you have
the freedom to take in films that interest you. And don’t worry, there
will also be free time for you to take in the sights and sounds of
Toronto.
