Kids Classroom Team [Special Needs] VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteers on our Kids Classroom Team provide support to kids with special needs and help make it possible for their families to be fully engaged in the activities of the church. They do this by leading kids in the classroom on Sunday mornings and by developing relationships with the kids and their families on Sundays and at other special events.

Serving With
Mars Hill Kids

Details
This team of Room Leaders and Shepherds provide consistent and dependable care, concern, and safety for all in the classroom by overseeing the flow of the morning, interacting in play, connecting with children’s families about their individual needs and then attending to those needs. Both bi-weekly and weekly serving opportunities are available, in both the 9am and the 11am Gathering. A pre-serving interview is required, and volunteers also participate in 2-4 trainings and/or meetings during the year.

Qualifications/Skills
All volunteers in the Kids Classroom Team must demonstrate patience, compassion, and flexibility. Knowledge or familiarity with the Special Needs field is helpful but not required.
