1:1 Team [Special Needs] VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Many of the kids involved with our Special Needs ministry benefit greatly from a level of integration with peer groups in their age-appropriate Mars Hill Kids classrooms. To do this well, for each child with Special Needs we provide a caring adult who accompanies them on Sundays, allowing for integration while also helping care for the child’s individual needs throughout the morning.

1:1 Team volunteers accompany a child with special needs into his or her age-appropriate program on Sunday mornings. They also assist the child with completing lessons and interacting with his or her peers. This is a weekly role, and team members also participate in a pre-serving interview as well as 2-4 trainings per year.Qualifications/Skills
Special Needs volunteers must exhibit patience, compassion, and flexibility while serving. Knowledge and/or experience in areas of Special Needs is helpful but not required.
