“It’s water and it’s not for you.”
Shane and Mars Hill Bible Church,
You have got an “Amen” form me. It’s a vision that my soul has longed for– thank you for bringing this Biblical vision forward.

Amen from the Dominican Republic! I have always believed what preached today. We are all human, we all get thirsty and we ALL need love, hope, and life….and we all need water when we are thirsty, and water is unconditional, just like God’s love! So Amen from a Lesbian, God-fearing, child raising person from the Dominican Republic…..”come just as you are” says God!
Very unusual and wonderful, but not completely unique to Mars Hill – fortunately for me. This is the vision statement on a board outside my church: ‘We aspire to cherish all, regardless of marital or social status, sexual orientation or church committment’. As a single white mother of a black child who’d been cold shouldered in other churches, I thought I’d see if they ‘live it’ – they do – we’ve been there 12 years now. So if you find yourself in Bristol, UK and a long way from home – and if you love Mars Hill (like I do), you may well feel more comfortable worshiping with us at Cotham Parish Church than some other places. I trust, hope and pray that there are other hidden gems of churches all over the world… But you folks are stunning!
I’v heard preachers say “come as your are” but how amazing it is to hear Shane paint such a strong picture of how Mars Hill welcomes this truth from God. Regardless of who or what or how or when we are, water satisfies the thirst.
