What is Child Dedication?
Child Dedication is parental recognition of a solemn responsibility and trust - a responsibility to raise your child in the nurture and instruction of the Lord. The Dedication Service provides you, as a parent, an opportunity to make this commitment public before God, your friends, and family.
Teaching Night
- Monday October 20, 2008 6:30 – 8:00 PM - teaching night for parents
The teaching Night is a required part of the Dedication process for each parent desiring to dedicate his or her child at Mars Hill. During this teaching night, you will receive information on the following:
- The importance of dedicating your child to God
- The Importance of the covenant you are making with God on behalf of your child.
- The responsibility of the parent in raising children who love and serve Jesus Christ.
- How to create your personal covenant.
Dedication Service

Your assigned Mars Hill Leader will officiate a private, 20-minute Dedication Service for you and your child. Each Dedication Service will be held on a scheduled Sunday afternoon at Mars Hill Bible Church. Feel free to invite family members and friends to attend this service. During the service you will have the opportunity to share your child's covenant as well as dedicate yourself and your child to God in prayer.
