Summers in Michigan bring friends and families together. So at Mars Hill, we like to do the same. And this summer even more than ever, we’re being intentional about engaging across the lifespan with a brand new summer series, 10 Colorful Teachings—a fresh look at epic biblical adventures. During this 10-week series, we’ll awaken our imagination with familiar stories from the bible, such as Noah’s Ark, Daniel and the Lion’s Den, and Joseph’s Colorful Coat, while opening up our hearts and minds to see and hear what God will unfold as we dive into these colorful stories with both kids and adults.

Think you don’t have the time to walk with a student in need? Well, it could be easier than you think. All it takes is one hour, once a week to change the life of a student who’s struggling. Just one hour, once a week could show them that someone cares about them. That for one hour, each and every week—they are all that matters. Could you be that person who invests in them? The person that shows up week in and week out. Learn how you can play a role in changing the life of a student as a Mars Hill Mentor during the the 2012-2013 school year. more >
From May 25-June 10, the Mars Hill Water Team is working in Rwanda, installing water filters and rainwater cisterns in Masaka and beginning a new pilot program for filters in the neighboring region of Ganhanga. So far it’s been a challenging trip logistics-wise, however they’ve found encouragement in the stories of those they’ve encountered, and being able to witness a nation that is now moving toward healing and the pursuit of a better life. The 12 team members on this trip have been really stretched but are excited by all that is being accomplished. Please continue to pray for their strength, endurance, and health during their final week, and that they might have a safe journey home.
Prayer is an important aspect of who we are as a community. That’s why holding our Teaching Pastor Search together in prayer is essential to our discernment process. Together, we will sit before God as a community in 2 monthly times of prayer, led by our Community Life Team and members of the Elder Team. Join us:
- Every first Sunday of the month [July 1] there will be an open space for prayer between the Gatherings [10:30am] in the Prayer Room in the SW corner of the Shed.
- The first Tuesday of the month [July 3], you’re invited to join the staff for a time of directed prayer. We’ll meet in the Student Zoo Room from 8:30-9:30am. [Come in the North Entrance.]
